Two People Robbed by Juveniles at Providence Place Mall

Two people were robbed at Providence Place Mall over the weekend, GoLocal has learned.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 PM on Saturday.

Providence Police Major David Lapatin confirmed there has been an active investigation.

“[Juvenile] robbery suspects were stopped, and brought to the station for questioning,” Lapatin confirmed to GoLocal on Monday. 

“We’re still investigating and expect to press charges," he added. 

 

Latest at Mall 

Providence Place Mall is currently in receivership.

On November 1, GoLocal reported that Superior Court Judge Brian Stern named John Dorsey, Esq. and Mark Russo, Esq., as the appointed Temporary Receivers “of all the estate, assets, effects, property, and business” in the receivership of the Providence Place Mall.

As GoLocal reported on November 7, "Assault Bike-Rider at Gunpoint for $1,300 Sneakers in Front of Providence Place Mall:"

“A juvenile was assaulted by a group in front of Providence Place Mall on Saturday — and robbed at gunpoint,” GoLocal reported.

On December 15, a mall worker was reportedly robbed and assaulted by a gang of individuals on the Mall Skybridge.
