U.S. Senate Chaplain Black to Speak at Darrell West Lecture Series

United States Senate Chaplain Barry Black will discuss the role of philosophy and faith in politics as part of the 2019 Darrell West lecture series.

The lecture will take place on Saturday, February 16 at 6 p.m. at the Central Congregational church in Providence.

It is free and open to the public.

About Black

Black was elected to this position on June 27, 2003, becoming the first African American and the first Seventh-day Adventist to hold this office.

He served more than 27 years in the United States Navy Chaplain Corps, rising to the rank of rear admiral and ending his career as the chief of chaplains of the United States Navy.

He officially retired from the Navy on August 15, 2003
