Victims Zip-Tied, Assaulted in Home Invasion in Providence

Two men were reportedly zip tied and assaulted in a home invasion in South Providence on Thursday morning. 

About Incident 

Shortly after 5 AM, police said they responded to Trask Street — off of Eddy Street — for a report of a home invasion.

According to police, the door frame to the side door of the house was broken as well as door latches broken office. Police say the apartment appeared to have been rummaged through.

The victim — a male in his 30s — told police he had been sleeping when he heard loud banging on the door, before four men burst into his apartment, shouting, “Police, get on the floor.” 

He said he was hit on his head with a gun and zip tied, and that male relative in the apartment was also assaulted and zip tied. 

The four suspects reportedly fled before police arrived.
