VIDEO: Traffic Backups Caused by Fallen Tree on Brown Campus Blocking Road

A large fallen tree - and its subsequent removal - caused significant traffic jams on the East Side of Providence Wednesday morning.

The tree, which had been located on Brown University’s athletic complex at the Corner of Angell Street and Arlington Avenue, reportedly fell overnight.

It took out a portion of the stone wall that surrounds the playing fields. There are no reports of any injuries at this time. 

The City of Providence Public Works Department was on scene removing the debris and Providence Police were re-directing traffic.

Workers say they expect to have the tree debris removed by late morning.
