About Incident
According to police, at approximately 7:40 PM on Monday, a Warwick Fire Department rescue was returning to Station 5 when it was "struck head-on" by a motorcycle on Diamond Hill Road in the area of Larchmont Drive.
"The motorcycle operator had been traveling northbound on Diamond Hill Road when it lost control on approach to a bend in the roadway, crossing the double yellow line, and colliding head-on with WFD Rescue 2 which had been traveling in the southbound lane," said police.
The motorcycle operator was transported by another rescue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The Warwick Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is actively investigating.
Police say initial evidence "shows that the motorcyclist's speed was a factor."
Police are asking that anyone with additional information contact the Warwick Police Department and request to speak with the Traffic Division
