A woman was shot in Providence early Wednesday morning. 

The shooting comes after a woman had been shot in the city on Tuesday morning.

About Latest Incident 

Police were called to Hartford Avenue shortly after 1 PM Wednesday morning for a report of a shooting. 

Upon arrival, police said they met with the victim — a female in her 20s — who had been shot in her stomach. 

The victim was taken by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital. 

According to police, the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation with a male building tenant, who shot her before fleeing the scene.
