Women's Fund of RI Announces Participants in 2019-2020 Policy Institute

The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island announced the selection of 16 women for its 2019-2020 Women’s Policy Institute (WPI).

The group will focus on policies that help women and girls in Rhode Island such as pay equity, sexual harassment in the workplace and gender discrimination.

WPI was launched in 2008 to build a progressive movement in Rhode Island.

WPI will meet monthly for nine full-day sessions beginning in September.

Led by facilitator Paula Hodges of Anchor Strategies, topics covered include policy formation, community organizing, and testifying.

The full-day workshops include guest presenters and community leaders involved in policy and advocacy.

In the coming months, fellows will work on drafting and introducing their own legislation while creating a strategic campaign plan to guide them through the legislative session.

  • Cordelia Brady, a Mental Health Clinician for AIDS Care Ocean State and a resident of Providence
  • Anita Bruno, Chairwoman of Sisters in the Brotherhood, Local 330 Carpenter’s Union and a resident of North Scituate
  • Cheyenne Cazeault, Special Projects Manager for Lt. Governor Daniel McKee and a resident of North Scituate
  • Karrie DiSanto, owner of DiSanto Website Design & Digital and a resident of Barrington
  • Abeer Khatana, a Development Manager for Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island and a resident of Cranston
  • Mary Ellen Lynch, an Adjunct Professor for Roger Williams University and a resident of Newport
  • Michelle Mooney, a Case Manager for ResCare Workforce Services and a resident of Providence
  • Jeronomia Nix, College Bound Program Director for Breakthrough Providence and a resident of Providence
  • Alyson Panzarella, Coordinator of Program Quality for the RI Association for the Education of Young Children and a resident of North Providence
  • Raquel Perez, Social Media & Marketing Specialist for the University of Rhode Island and a resident of Rehoboth
  • Victoria Picinich, Director of Development at Grow Smart RI and a resident of Warwick
  • Etie-Lee Schaub, Associate Solicitor for the City of Providence and a resident of Providence
  • Dianna Shaw, Clinical Quality Program and Oversite Manager for Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island and a resident of Barrington
  • Lani Willmar, Associate Director of College Admissions for the College Crusade of Rhode Island and a resident of Providence
  • Tiffany Word, an intern for the Department of Human Services and a resident of Johnston
