Emily Cicero, Former Capitol Hill Staffer and Lifetime PC Basketball Fan, Dies at 40

Emily Rose Cicero, 40, of Sessions Street, Providence, passed away at home after a brief illness on Saturday, March 8, 2025. 

Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of Judith (Paine) Cicero of Providence, RI and the late John Cicero. She also leaves a brother, Joseph Brady and his wife Melissa of Virginia.

Emily graduated from Prout High School and The Catholic University with a bachelor’s in politics. She worked at the offices of United States Senators Lincoln Chafee and Jack Reed while at Catholic and then worked at law offices in Washington DC and in Providence, RI.

Emily was a lifetime Providence College Basketball fan.

She also leaves her beloved dog Loli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Emily’s visitation on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick, RI. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI.
