FBI Files - The Patriarca Papers - Entry 8

This week's Patriarca Papers from the files of the FBI focuses on the Boston connection and the Anguilo brothers. They later were toppled by the Winter Hill gang.

According to one FBI document, one of the brothers claim that, “Patriarca has been victimized by individuals, many of whom Patriarca has done favors for.”

“ He (Anguilo) said that if Patriarca had a piece of everything that he has heard over the years Patriarca was interested in, Patriarca would need a vault as big as Fort Knox to store his money in.”

According to another FBI interview that Patriarca’s reputation was over stated, “ REDACTED further stated that he felt that Raymond Patriarca’s reputation is over-exaggerated due to newspaper accounts during the early part of 1950, as Patriarca had received a great deal of unfavorable publicity by the Providence newspapers, but these newspapers were in able to print any information of an evidentiary nature.”

This week’s documents also unveil the FBI’s investigation if Patriarca was involved in the ownership or investment in a massive mine complex in Maine involving an MIT professor.
