Catanzaro Announces Run for Mayor of North Providence

Running for Mayor of North Providence
North Providence Councilwoman Kristen J. Catanzaro announced she is a candidate for Mayor of North Providence taking on Charles Lombardi.

Catanzaro claims she will “restore the pride and integrity to both our town and the Mayor’s office” while also criticizing the “spending, hiring and questionable practices of the current administration which has resulted in an unaffordable tax rate and continuous embarrassing headlines plaguing our town.”

“During my tenure as Councilwoman and having served as Town Council President for two terms, I have encountered numerous situations where I have strongly questioned the practices of the current administration,” said Catanzaro.

“We need to stabilize our tax rate, revitalize our business community, revitalize our community spirit and pride, improve our infrastructure, hire and only retain qualified Department heads and hold them to the highest of standards, make much needed improvements to our educational infrastructure and insure that our generations of senior citizens, who have given so much to our town, are not treated like political pawns,” stated Catanzaro.

“Over the next five months I will be rolling out my plans and vision which will tackle these issues, restore pride and integrity to our town, and make North Providence an enviable place to call home and to locate a business. The Mayor’s Office, under my administration, will be receptive to the ideas and opinions of town residents and I will continue to be a voice of the people.”

She was elected to the Council in 2010.
