Bucci: I have enjoyed meeting voters throughout the City over the past several months. After hearing their concerns and learning about what is important to them, I have put forward a vision for Cranston in 2021 that focuses on diversity and inclusion, education, economic development, helping our small businesses, preserving our natural resources and implementing changes in the city to address the effects of climate change, and working to help our senior citizens age in their homes. I hope the voters share my vision for the future of Cranston that I have earned their vote.

2) GoLocal: What is the most important issue facing the city?

Bucci: Right now, the most important issue is the health and safety of our residents as we continue to combat the coronavirus. We must take action to reduce the risk of spreading infection. We need to take reasonable steps to safely open our schools, deliver a quality education, and provide support to our businesses so they can maintain operations during the crisis.

3) GoLocal: Name three people you will appoint as Mayor?

Bucci: Right now I am focused on the Primary and meeting and talking with voters. Should I win the Primary, my next step will be to focus on winning the General Election. If the voters place their trust in me and elect me as their Mayor, then I will create a transition team to help identify the people who will make up my administration. I am committed to building a team that truly reflects Cranston, including people of color and women in key positions as part of creating an inclusive and diverse team.

4) GoLocal: What is the first action you will take?

Bucci: For me, day one as Mayor is about getting right to work. We need to prepare a balanced budget. We need a transparent and accountable city hall. It is time to hire full-time Spanish speaking employees and have every resident feel welcome and able to communicate with the city.

5) GoLocal: What differentiates you from all the other candidates?

Bucci: I definitely think it’s my approach. In this election for a new Council and new Mayor, we have an opportunity to deliver a new vision. This is not just about who sits in the Mayor's Office or in the Council chamber, it's about what we can do - together. We need to focus on skill and ability, embrace differences in opinions and experience, and above all else be transparent and accountable to the people. I am committed to building a team that will help bring this to fruition and keep Cranston on the path to success. I never pretend to have all the answers, and I think voters find that refreshing.
