Mayoral Candidate Bucci Announces Vision for the City, "Cranston 2021"

She faces Steve Stycos in the Democratic primary.
Bucci’s plan is the result of meeting with and listening to Cranston residents during this campaign to see the City from their perspective and understand what is important to them.

Bucci has devoted a section of her website to Cranston 2021 that goes into detail on how she will focus her efforts on inclusion, education, the economy, the environment, and the coronavirus.
Bucci said in a statement, “We need to focus on diversifying city government and making government work for all Cranston residents -- and not just talk about it. We need to pass the School Construction Bond and provide a quality education in safe school buildings. We need to adapt to life in this pandemic while preparing for a post-COVID recovery. We need to get serious about Climate Change, pass the Climate Change Bond and build a resilient City. I know we can accomplish these things while prioritizing the health and safety of all Cranston residents.”
The plan calls for 25 initiatives across the environment, education, and the economy. She does not include the costs or how these new programs will be paid for. It includes:
- Commit to making Cranston run on 100% renewable energy by 2030.
- Advocate for an anti-racist curriculum in our schools and greater diversity in authors and historical perspective.
- Establish a revolving loan fund to help businesses adapting to the realities of the coronavirus.
Bucci has been endorsed for Mayor of Cranston by leading environmental advocacy organization, Clean Water Action, and leading women’s rights organizations, the National Organization for Women - Rhode Island Chapter, and the Rhode Island Democratic Women’s Caucus.
