"Since January 1, 2008, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has reaped $1,893,822 from PACs, (including opioid distributors Mckesson Corp. and Alkermes), Comcast, Walmart, fossil fuel energy companies such as Entergy Corporation, and PACs from Illinois, Maryland, Florida, Virginia, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and California.

Meanwhile, Sheldon Whitehouse’s own PAC has raked in an additional $900k in PAC donations since 2008.

After accepting millions of dollars in contributions from corporate and out-of-state PACs, Sheldon Whitehouse has stopped accepting new checks, as of Wednesday morning.

How genuine is Sen. Whitehouse’s epiphany? When asked why he robbed banks, the infamous criminal Willie Sutton replied, “Because that’s where the money is.” Sheldon Whitehouse knew where the money was when he needed it: corporate PACS. Now that he has topped off his campaign tank with almost $3 million in cash, he is conveniently declaring ‘enough is enough’, but Rhode Islanders are still paying the price.

His latest holier-than-thou stance doesn’t pass the smell test. Sheldon Whitehouse’s hollow pledge doesn’t extend to his own PAC, which will continue to rake in corporate PAC money. More hypocrisy! Sheldon Whitehouse needs to make good on his commitment to “democracy” and return or donate all of his corporate PAC donations and he should call for his PAC to do the same.

I am calling on Sheldon Whitehouse, “Prince of Dark Money,” to return all of the corporate PAC money he has amassed after a political lifetime of pocketing this cash and hypocritically criticizing all of the "dark corporate money" that influences career politicians like Whitehouse.

Better yet, Whitehouse should donate his millions in PAC money to a non-profit advocating for term limits. Removing career politicians like Whitehouse would do more for Rhode Island than his twelve years of empty political stunts and grandstanding ever have. I am urging Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to donate all of his “ill-gotten gains” to following advocacy group: U.S. Term Limits."
