Former Raimondo Aide Announces Run for Congress

A former long-time aide to former Rhode General Treasurer and Governor Gina Raimondo, Joy Fox announced on Twitter on Monday that she is a candidate for the second congressional district race.

“I’m in. I am running for the Second Congressional District seat currently held by @JimLangevin,” tweeted Fox.

She served as the spokesperson for Raimondo.

According to her bio, she presently serves as CEO of Clarendon Group, a local public relations firm.

She touts that she currently works as the senior advisor to former U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin, leads Clarendon’s media work for international relief organization CARE, and engagements with the Rosalynn Carter Institute, among other clients. 

Fox once served as the Director of Communications and Community Relations for U.S. Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) and as the Senior Information/Public Relations Specialist for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. She began her career as a reporter and editor in both newspapers and television. She serves on the executive committee and board of trustees for Sophia Academy in Providence, R.I.
