Young Greens of Rhode Island to Host Organizational Meeting

Young Greens
The Rhode Island youth wing of the Green Party, known as the Young Greens, will host an organizational meeting on June 16 at Fox Point Library.

The meeting will take place at 1:30 p.m.

“With the upsurge of activism and organizing since 2016, it seems that one key aspect has remained missing: a solidarity movement linking the struggle for environmental protection across Rhode Island with the fight against environmental racism within the urban core of Providence. Right now there are important struggles going on in Providence that confront the poisoning of Black and Brown families and children by industrial ecological degradation. It is important to link activists from around the state with these struggles while simultaneously opposing and educating against white supremacy. The Young Greens can facilitate this while maintaining an absolute independence from the corporate political parties that both bear responsibility for these policies,” said Andrew Stewart, an organizer with the caucus.
