The URI Rams men's basketball team ( 9-5, 1-0 A10) defeated (5-8, 0-1) Saint Louis 85-57 on Saturday evening at the Ryan Center. URI has now won 2 straight games and three of their last four.

URI opened up the game by taking an 18-3 lead in the first six minutes of action helped by Nicola Akele's two three-pointers.

Saint Louis cut their deficit to eight, 28-20, with 6:26 to play in the half but URI would close the half on a 14-4 run, topped off by a Jared Terrell jumper to take a 42-24 lead at the half. 

In the second half of action, URI shot 51% from the field cruised to a conference opening win. 

The Leaders 

URI was led by Four McGlynn for the second straight game. McGlynn netted 16 points on 4 of 14 shooting from the field, including 4 of 12 from beyond the arc. 

Earl Watson followed up with 14 points on 6 of 6 shooting from the field. 

Next Up

URI returns to action on Tuesday, January 5 when they host Richmond. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
