Benintendi's 2- RBI Single Lifts Red Sox Over Orioles 10-8 in 11 Innings

Andrew Benintendi hit a two-RBI single in the bottom of the 11th and the Boston Red Sox edged the Baltimore Orioles 10-8 on Monday night in Baltimore.

The Red Sox trailed the game 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth before storming back.

The win improves the Red Sox to 86-54 on the season. They maintain a three-game lead over the Yankees in the AL East.

Red Sox Storm Back

The Red Sox trailed the Orioles 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth before Boston stormed back with a six-run fifth inning.

In the inning, Brock Holt delivered a two-run double before Mookie Betts hit a double with the bases loaded to score all three runners.

After Red Sox and Orioles traded leads over the final innings, the game went to the bottom of the 11th tied at eight.

With the bases loaded in the 11th, Beinintendi hit a grounder past Baltimore second baseman Jonathan Schoop to put the Red Sox up 10-8.

The Red Sox are now 14-3 in extra innings this season.

Pedroia Injured

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia left in the fourth inning after being struck in the face by a foul ball that he hit off the plate.

The Red Sox described the injury as a bruised nose. Pedroia is listed as day-to-day.
