Brown Basketball Picked 5th in Ivy League

The Brown Bears men's basketball team has been picked to finish fifth in the Ivy League in the preseason media poll. 

Yale was picked to finish first with 117 points and five first place votes followed by Columbia with 114 points and six first place votes, Princeton and Harvard and then Brown. 

Cornell was picked to finish last.

The Bears return two time defensive player of the year Cedric Kuakumensah who enters the season needing 17 blocked shots to tie the Ivy League all-time record of 252 blocked shots in a career. 

Brown also returns junior guard Tavon Blackmon who averaged ten points per game and junior forward Steven Spieth who averaged nine points per game last season. 

The Brown opens their season on Friday, November 13 when they visit Saint Peter's. Brown's home opener will be Monday, November 16th against Holy Cross.
