Brown Holds On

Leading 17-5, Brown kicker Ben Rosenblatt knocked a 19-yard field goal through the uprights to give the Bears a commanding 20-15 lead with 6:49 to play in the third quarter.

From there, Yale would make their run.

After a field goal made it 20-8 just before the end of the third quarter, the Bulldogs forced and recovered a brown fumble on the Bears nine yard line, giving their offense possession on the three yard line following a short return.

Livingstone Harriott ran for 92 yards on 12 carries in the game.
Three plays later, Yale’s Alan Lamar ran one yard for a touchdown to pull Yale within five, 20-15, after the extra point was good.

Brown’s Defense Steps up

Following a Brown punt, the Bulldogs got the ball back with a chance to take the lead for the first time in the game.

On a first and ten from the Yale 26 yard line, Brown’s Richard Jarvis sacked Yale quarterback Kurt Rawlings for a loss of 11 yards, bringing up a second and 21 from the Yale 15 yard line.

On the ensuing play, Brown’s Sebastian Dovi intercepted Rawlings pass at the Yale 35 yard line where he went down. Yale was then called for a 15 yard personal foul penalty, giving the Brown offense possession at the 20 yard line.

On Browns ensuing offensive passion, Brown quarterback Thomas Linta hit Demitri Jackson for a 22 yard touchdown pass to put Brown up 27-15 with 5:36 to play in the game.

Yale would again pull within striking distance after Lamar ran three yards into the end zone with 1:42 to play in the game to make the score 27-22. However, the Bulldogs would fumble a punt return with 40 seconds to go, sealing the Brown victory.
