Brown Lacrosse Upset by Harvard in Ivy League Tournament

The Brown Bears men's lacrosse team fell 13-12 to Harvard in the first round of the Ivy League lacrosse tournament on Friday night at Stevenson-Pincince field. This is Harvard's first win over Brown since 2014. 

The Harvard Crimson went up 13-10 on a goal by Morgan Cheek with 4 minutes left in the game before the Bears rallied on two goals by Dylan Molloy. 

Brown trailed 13-12 with 2 minutes to play in the game but were unable to get the equalizer.

The Bears had a three goal lead to start the second half but did not score a goal 

Brown Grabbed Early Control 

In the first half, Cheek tied the game at 5 with six minutes to play in the second quarter before Brown would regain control. 

The Bears would score three straight goals, one by Kylor Bellistri, a second by Dylan Molloy and a third by Henry Blynn with 1 minute to play in the half to take an 8-5 lead into the locker room.

Brown was led by Dylan Molloy who netted 5 goals and 2 assists. 

Meanwhile, Harvard was led by Morgan Cheek who tallied a game high 9 goals to lead Harvard to a victory. The 9 goals is a record. 

Next up 

The Bears will now await a birth in the NCAA Tournament. 

Meanwhile, Harvard will face Yale on Sunday in the Ivy League Championship game.
