Mazzulla’s Playing Career

While at Hendricken, Mazzulla led the Hawks to three straight state championship titles from 2004-2006. He averaged 24 points per game during his career and led Hendricken to a 21-0 record during his senior season.

“My freshman year we were kind of underachievers, but then we put things together sophomore year and won the [state title]. My entire time there was great. I think being out of there for so long, it makes you realize how great the people were, my coaches were. Looking back on it now, it was just a really special time,” Mazzulla told GoLocal in 2012.

Following his career at Hendricken, Mazzulla went on to play for West Virginia University, helping them reach the 2010 NCAA Final Four.

At West Virginia, he averaged 7.7 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds per game as a senior, but much of his career was plagued by a shoulder injury.

Mazzulla in Coaching

Last season, Mazzulla served as an assistant coach in the NBA Development League with the Maine Red Claws.

Prior to that, he spent three seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Fairmont State University.

Mazzulla started his coaching career at Glenville State.
