Kris Dunn Signs Rookie Contract With Timberwolves, Plays Summer League Tonight

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced on Thursday that they signed former Providence College star Kris Dunn to a rookie contract that will pay Dunn nearly $3.9 million this upcoming season. 

The Timberwolves drafted Dunn 5th overall in last month's draft and will watch him make his Summer League debut tonight when the Wolves face Denver in Las Vegas.

Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. and the game will be shown on ESPN.

This will mark the Timberwolves first Summer League game.

Kris Dunn at Providence 

This past season at Providence, Dunn averaged 16.4 points, 6.2 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game, leading the Friars to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as a redshirt junior.

Dunn has been named the Big East Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year in each of the past two seasons.

The Friars went 23-10 overall this season, and 10-8 in the Big East, making the tournament for the third straight season. 

He graduated from PC in May.
