NEW: Ex PC Star Kris Dunn Invited to Play for USA Basketball's Select Team

Providence College basketball alum Kris Dunn has been invited to be part of the USA Basketball select team, according to a report by The Undefeated. Kris Dunn graduated from Providence College on Sunday and is a projected top 5 pick in the NBA Draft. 

The select team scrimmages and trains against Team USA in the weeks leading up to the Olympics which are set to be held in Rio de Janeiro in August.

This past season at Providence, Dunn averaged 16.4 points, 6.2 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game, leading the Friars to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as a redshirt junior.

Dunn has been named the Big East Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year in each of the past two seasons.

The Friars went 23-10 overall this season, and 10-8 in the Big East, making the tournament for the third straight season. 

USA Basketball Select Team 

The select team roster is not finalized yet but other players who have reportedly been invited include D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle of the LA Lakers, Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics, Jabari Parker of the Milwaukee Bucks and C.J. McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers. 

Michigan State's Denzel Valentine has also been invited (which he confirmed) and is the only player not on an NBA roster to be on the team.
