Providence led for ten minutes in the first half  and trailed by only four points at half time before the Wildcats lockdown defense caused the Friars to turn the ball over and the offense to stall in the half court.

Kentucky started to pull away with about 15 minutes left in the game and the Friar offense was unable to keep up against a big and athletic Kentucky defense.

Kris Dunn returned for the Friars in this game but did not look 100 percent as he had 10 of the Friars 18 turnovers in the game. The Friars leading scorer LaDontae Henton was completely shut down, only scoring three points on one of eight shooting. Kentucky big man Willie Cauley-Stein did a great job of staying right with Henton everywhere he went.

Tyler Harris and Carson Desrosiers led the Friars with ten points each in the loss while freshman Paschal Chukwu contributed seven points off the bench.

For Kentucky, Willie Cauley-Stein and Karl-Anthony Towns each had 11 points to keep the Wildcats undefeated.

The Friars next game is another road test on Friday, December 5 when they visit the Boston College Eagles at Chestnut Hill.
