Henton Goes For 38, Friars Edge Irish 75-74

LaDontae Henton put up a career high 38 points, and the Providence Friars (5-0) defeated the (4-1) Notre Dame Fighting Irish 75-74 in the final game of the Hall of Fame tip-off tournament at Mohegan Sun. 

Henton knocked down two free throws to give PC a 75-74 lead with 14 seconds left in the game. Notre Dame got the last possession and had a couple of chances to win the game, but none of the shots were clean looks as the Friars defense buckled down and got the stop. 

Tyler Harris added seventeen points for the Friars in the win, and Kris Dunn had six points and five assists. He had to deal with foul trouble for most of the night.

The Irish got a big game for Jerian Grant who had 22 points and five assists while teammate, Zach Auguste, added 15 points for the Irish, who suffered their first loss of the season.  

Providence will now have the week off before hosting Yale on Friday, November 28 at 4 p.m.
