NEW: Bruins Rank as 5th Most Valuable Franchise in NHL

The Boston Bruins rank as the fifth most valuable franchise in the NHL, according to Forbes Magazine. Boston's current value sits at $750 million, unchanged from 2014.

Boston sits behind the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks in the three and four spots while ranking ahead of the Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers who sit at six and seven respectively.

The New York Rangers are the most valuable franchise in the league for the first time since 2004, holding a value of $1.2 billion. The Bruins host the Rangers on Friday at 1 p.m. at TD Garden.

Of the Original six teams (Red Wings, Rangers, Bruins, Canadians, Maple Leafs, Black Hawks), the Detroit Red Wings are the least valuable, ranking eighth with a value of $600 million.

The least valuable franchise in the league is the Florida Panthers who sit at a value of $186 million.

The Bruins are currently 11-8-1 on the season and visit the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night.
