Cranston West Falls to California in LLWS

Cranston West fell 10-3 to California in the Little League World Series on Monday night at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The loss eliminates Cranston West from the World Series.

Trailing 2-0 in the top of the third inning, California rallied for a six runs due in large part to a grand slam from Jacob Baptista to give California a 6-2 lead.

David Marchetti home run in bottom of the third inning to cut Cranston's deficit to 6-3 but a Walker Lannom two run home run in the top of the sixth made it 8-3, sealing the win for California.

Off to a Good Start

Cranston West got on the board first when Caleb Harris hit a home run to center field to put West up 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning.

Rhode Island went up 2-0 when Cam Adamec got himself an RBI single, driving in David Marchetti.

Cranston West Run

Cranston West got to the World Series by defeating New Hampshire 10-4 to win the New England Championship. West fell in their first game to South Carolina before beating Missouri in their second game to avoid elimination.

Cranston West is the second team from Rhode Island to make it to the World Series in the last two years and the third team in the last five years to make it to the World Series.
