Former St. Andrews Star Carter-Williams Invited to USA Basketball Camp

Former St. Andrews star Michael Carter-Williams has been invited to participate in Team USA's Vegas camp and will attend, according to reports. 

Carter-Williams will join LA Clippers forward Blake Griffin, Houston guard James Harden as well as Golden State's Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes among others at the camp which begins August 13. 

Team USA won the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain and now turn their focus to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Williams grew up in Central Mass. before attending St. Andrews School where he averaged 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game as a senior. 

After St. Andrews, Carter-Williams went on to play two years at Syracuse University were he reached double-figures scoring in 30 of his 40 games as a sophomore. 

Williams was drafted 11th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013 before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks this past February. Carter-Williams helped the Bucks reach the playoffs where they lost to the Chicago Bulls in the first round. 

Williams averaged 14.6 points per game in 33 minutes of play during the 2014-15 regular season and 12 points per game in 32 minutes of play during 2014-15 post season.
