Patriots sign Cameron Meredith
The New England Patriots signed free agent wide receiver Cameron Meredith on Friday.

Meredith became a free agent when he New Orleans Saints released him on Monday, just four days into training camp.

Terms of the contract have not been released.

Meredith will begin his run with the Patriots on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from a knee injury that shortened his 2018 season.

About Meredith

Meredith had a big season in 2016 for the Chicago Bears, hauling in 66 catches for 888 yards and four touchdowns.

In 2017, he tore his ACL and other ligaments during a preseason game.

Last offseason, he signed with the New Orleans Saints as a restricted free agent, however, his year was cut short by swelling and soreness in the knee.

He was placed on injured reserve in November, after playing in just six games.

In those six games, Meredith posted nine catches for 114 yards and a touchdown.
