Dear Friartown,

As our men's basketball season has come to a close, I want to take this opportunity to say that I am incredibly grateful for all of our fans and supporters. Your unwavering support standing behind our student athletes as they compete each day is something that fuels their drive to achieve. Within this new landscape of college athletics, we are committed to supporting our basketball programs at the highest level to compete for Big East and national championships. We have high expectations and each day we work hard to reach and exceed those goals. This year we fell short, and we are addressing how we will move forward.

Coach English and his staff have a strategic plan and vision for this offseason. They have been working collaboratively non-stop each day to identify the next generation of Friars and to build a team and program that is both successful and sustainable. Every aspect of the program is being audited to ensure that we build upon where we were successful and fix where we failed to meet expectations. Our commitment is to be aggressive in the NIL space with a plan to have the resources necessary to retain and recruit student athletes who fit into that success model and share our goals. The transfer portal gives us that opportunity to do that in this new era of collegiate athletics.

Finally, as the final details of House v. NCAA settlement continues to unfold, our goal is to ensure that we are prepared to manage the financial implications to the institution and the department by focusing on major areas such as institutional revenue sharing, NIL and the Friar Family Collective, roster limits, and scholarships. I will provide an additional update on the settlement as it nears.

Providence College is an extraordinarily special place. I commit to you that every day we will be working to build a program of which all of Friartown can be proud. Thank you again for your support, generosity, and passion for the Friars. You are the greatest fans in the country, and we will continue on this journey together.
