After a scoreless first half, a dramatic second half saw German striker Celia Sasic miss a penalty kick after a foul in the box in the 59th minute.
About 10 minutes later, USA's Carli Lloyd scored on a penalty kick of her own after Alex Morgan was fouled in the box to give the the United States a 1-0 lead.

The Road Ahead For Team USA
The Americans will find out who their opponent in the final is when defending champion Japan takes on England in the other semifinal match on Wednesday, July 1st at 7 p.m.
Game time for Sunday's Final at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver is set for 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on FOX and Telemundo.
