URI Alum Henderson Named 62nd PGA Golf Professional of the Year

University of Rhode Island Alum Tom Henderson has been named the 62nd recipient of the PGA Golf Professional of the Year award. The award is the highest annual honor given to a PGA of America Professional. 

Henderson leads the 2015 PGA National Awards class for "qualities of leadership, strong moral character and a substantial record of service to both the PGA and the game of golf."

Henderson and the rest of the awards class will be recognized at a ceremony on November 11 in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.

Tom Henderson

Tom Henderson is a 1979 graduate of Rhode Island with a degree in marketing management and is in his 29th year as a PGA Head Professional at Round Hill Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. Henderson is the first PGA member to get a PGA Certification in Player Development in 2012. 

Henderson has held every office in the Metropolitan PGA section including President from 2007-09 and currently serves no the national Board of Control.
