URI Basketball Gets Verbal Commitment From Michael Tertsea

The University of Rhode Island men's basketball team has received a commitment from Michael Tertsea. Tertsea will be part of the 2016 freshman class. 

Tertsea is a 6'10" forward from John Carroll School in Bel Air, Maryland and also had offers from George Washington and LaSalle. 

In high school, Tertsea has averaged six points and six rebounds throughout his career and sits 31 blocks shy of the school record.

Tertsea is ranked as a three-star recruit by scout.com.

With the addition of Mike Layssard and now Tertsea, URI now has two scholarships remaining for the 2016 class. 

URI Rams 

The Rams are getting set to start the 2015-16 season which opens up on Friday, November 13th against American at the Ryan Center. 

Rhode Island went 23-10 last season and advanced to the second round of the NIT Tournament before losing to eventual NIT Champion Stanford. This season, URI returns four starters including E.C. Matthews and Hassan Martin.
