With the game tied at 21 in overtime, URI’s C.J. Carrick kicked a 42-yard field goal on the first possession to give the Rams their first lead of the game.

Central Michigan drove to the URI 4-yard line, but URI’s defense held the Chippewas to a 22-yard field goal, forcing a second overtime period.

A fumbled snap by Central Michigan at the line of scrimmage was recovered by URI’s Justin Hogan, giving the Rams a chance to win it with a score. However, Carrick pushed his 33-yard field goal attempt wide right, forcing a third OT.

Carrick nailed the 36-yarder to start the third overtime period, putting URI up, but the Chips' Devin Spalding found the end zone for the winning score.
