URI Men's Basketball Is Losing Its Best Player

Bad news is coming out of Kingston.

The University of Rhode Island men's basketball team is losing its most talented player -- sophomore Ishmael Leggett.

He has announced he is entering the NCAA's transfer portal.

Leggett's departure comes just a couple of months after coach Archie Miller dismissed Brayon Freeman - he had only been with the Rams for less than a one year after transferring in from George Washington University.

Leggett and Freeman led the Rams in scoring and second and third, respectively, in assists.

Miller is again forced with a near-complete rebuild in his second year.
