Warwick North Softball Falls to North Carolina in World Series Championship

Warwick North Softball fell 4-2 to North Carolina in the Little League Softball World Series Championship on Wednesday night in Portland, Oregon.

North Carolina jumped out to a commanding lead in the top of the first inning when Ellen Yang knocked in three runs on a bases loaded single and advanced to third on an error. North Carolina would add another run and lead 4-0 after a half inning. North Carolina scored four runs on three hits.

Warwick scored a run in the third and fourth inning to trim Carolinas lead to just two runs but were unable to push any more runs across.

Warwick is set to return to Rhode Island on Thursday evening at 5 p.m.

Warwick North's Run

Warwick North made the World Series for the first time ever, going undefeated while winning the Rhode Island District 3 Championship, the Rhode Island State Championship and the Eastern Regional Championship. Warwick North beat Central Iowa 5-4 to reach the Championship game.
