Prov City Council to Hold Public Hearing on Zoning Map Change for Fane Tower

Providence City Council’s Committee on Ordinances will hold a public hearing in regards to a text change and change in zoning map for the proposed Fane Tower.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, July 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber on the third floor of City Hall.

Public Comments Accepted

The City Council is asking any person who wishes to make a public comment to sign up prior to the meeting.

The chambers open around 5 p.m. and sign-ups will begin at the same time.

Constituents who are unable to attend the public hearing may provide written testimony by mail or email.

Latest on Fane Tower

As GoLocalProv reported in June, the General Assembly passed legislation to alter the boundaries of a parcel within the I-195 Redevelopment District.

New York developer Jason Fane has worked with the I-195 Redevelopment Commission on a proposal to construct a 46-story high-rise tower on Dyer Street.

The proposal, known as Hope Point Tower, represents an investment of about $250 million.
