Beloved East Side Diner Louis Is Closing After 79 Years

In a message to customers, Louis announced that it is closing.

It's time for us to embark on a new chapter. Our legacy began with two brothers and will forever be defined by two brothers. We've had an extraordinary journey from 1946 to 2025, and we're grateful for the trust and loyalty you've shared with us over the years. Our last day will be December 31, 2025.

 

The restaurant has been a pillar of the Fox Point, East Side, and Brown communities for decades. The diner is located at 286 Brook Street in Providence.

 

It is one of the last remaining diners in the area. The Wayland Diner closed in 2024. It had been in business for 65 years.
