See the Silks at Fete, Friday Night
This weekend, we give thanks to some great local venues and artists…

The Silks

Starting tonight and continuing tomorrow, celebrate the holiday weekend at Fete with a Record Release event featuring The Silks. The Providence band is releasing their debut album, Last American Band, produced by Replacements leader Paul Westerberg. The Silks are poised for great success with this release - it should get widespread attention. Toy Soldiers opens on Friday, Detroit Rebellion and Smith and Weeden open Saturday. Shows both night are $10 – music begins around 9PM.

Riverfolk Homecoming Show

The Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland is a grand venue in northern Rhode Island. The Theatre consistently plans great live concerts along with classes from Mountain Dulcimer to Zumba. Tomorrow night it’s their Homecoming Concert and Silent Auction Fundraiser featuring local artists like Atwater Donnelly, Eastern Medicine Singers, Ken Lyon and Pendragon. Sarah Borges

Also, Tomorrow night, head out to the Narrows Center for the annual Thanksgiving weekend show from the Sarah Borges Band. Sarah will rip up the joint with her upbeat blend of Roots, Rock, and Rhythm and Blues, with a just enough attitude to keep you honest. She’s a great performer - if you’ve never seen her live, get to the Narrows tomorrow! Dietrich Strause opens at 8PM – tickets are $18 in advance; $20 day of show.

Local Bands in the Parlour

Also tomorrow night, check out some local faves at The Parlour. You can hang out withGymshorts, Volcano Kings, Us N Y'all & The YaBeautifuls starting at 9PM. There’s great local food on their “farm to fork” menu and it’s the hippest spot in the neighborhood! Check the website for more details.

Festival of Lights

Next week, things heat up at Lupos with several national acts appearing beginning with the Festival of Lights celebration on Tuesday Dec 3 with Matisyahu. Kosha Dillz opens at 8PM. Tickets are $25 in advance, $28 day of show. The former And on Wednesday Dec 4, catch The Hives at Lupos. Livids opens the show at 9PM. Tickets are $22.50, $25 at the door.
