Saturday-Sunday Celebrate Portuguese Heritage at the “Day of Portugal” Festival this weekend! On Saturday, stand along the Waterplace Park Basin to see a Portuguese-themed Kick off of WaterFire starting at 7:45 pm with a Portuguese folklore dance and music exhibition. Stick around for the torch lighting followed by the Procession of Torches and Flags to the Bank of America City Center for the Opening Ceremonies at the Arraial at 9pm. Entertainment will be provided by Sandy Berto, Jorge Ferreira and his Band. Start off Sunday with the Day of Portugal Parade, which steps off via Canal Street to the Bank of America City Center at 1pm. Afterwards, enjoy the dance performances of the Rancho Folcloric Dance Groups and entertainment of Joey Medeiros, Martinho & Speedlimit Band, The Portuguese Kids.
