We may have bid farewell to Scout Willis, but it's looking official that Emma Watson will definitely be back at Brown University on Providence's College Hill starting in the fall. What's this co-ed doing with her summer vacation? Opening two films: The first, This is the End (June 12), is billed as an "apocalyptic comedy" directed by directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, and written by Rogen, Goldberg, and Jason Stone, wherein a long list of celebrities play fictional version of themselves (and also features RISD's recent celeb alum, James Franco). Watson's second summer opening: The Bling Ring (June 14), features celebrity-obsessed teens and is directed by Sofia Coppola.

When it comes to her studies, though, the ingenue doesn't mince words. Watson told Rookie Magazine that she's coming back to Brown for its fabled (and often maligned) open curriculum. "I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on Potter when I was 9 or 10," she told Rookie, "and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum." Watson, like many of her Ivy League classmates, loves the grading system at Brown. ""The idea of classes being pass/fail, make it sound as if you don’t have to work as hard, but it actually gives you the freedom to try out things that you wouldn’t be able to do if you had to get a certain GPA on your transcript. It lets you take classes that you wouldn’t otherwise. And it attracts a certain type of student: [someone] very independent who wants to take responsibility and control of what they’re learning. That really appealed to me as well."

Over at Mohegan Sun, summer just got cooler when Vinny Guadagnino of The Show with Vinny and Jersey Shore kicked off GLO, the region’s only nighttime pool party at Mohegan Sun. The evening’s soiree included music by Clinton Sparks, a Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, songwriter and recording artist. Crowds danced and had fun in the rooftop pool area’s nighttime setup which includes a fire pit, cabanas, dancers and new blackjack tables.

Everyone's taking a little cool-down time in Watch Hill after this weekend's blow up between locals and Taylor Swift. As for Taylor, she popped over to Chicago to take the stage with the Rolling Stones in concert at the United Center, tweeting sweet nothings at her admittedly new bestie, Mick Jagger (and hanging with her brother, Austin). Back home in South County, locals smoothed their feathers after learning that they would not be able to hang out on T's seawall (yes, it's private) or sunbathe on her (also private) beach as they've done with previous owners. And on the inside of Swift's $17M manse, plans are underway to decorate a boys' room for Ed Sheeran, the English singer songwriter who's been the opening act for Tay's Red Tour, to stay in when he comes to visit. “Taylor and Ed are really good pals and their friendship has grown even stronger since they started the tour," a source told The Sun UK. “They were on the road together when the deal went through on her house and she’s been sharing all of her ideas for decorating with him."
