Fit for Life: The Secret to Success

You know what you need to do to lose weight, get healthy, and feel your best. 

Eat vegetables, work out, get more sleep, drink more water. 

But why is it so hard to actually do those things?

It usually comes down to 2 main reasons:

 

         1.      You’re trying to do too much at once.

         2.      You need someone to guide you and hold you accountable. 

 

Let’s look at the first problem: trying to do too much at once. Motivation comes in waves and when motivation is high, we tend to over-commit to ourselves. 

We promise to cut out certain foods, work out every day, and ditch the evening glass of wine when we’re feeling the “motivational high,” but after a few days, life gets in the way and we’re back to square one…

If you want to create lasting change, you need to take a systemized approach to gradually changing your habits by introducing new ones. 

You do this by creating one habit at a time, not by restructuring your whole life all at once. 

Think about looking up a staircase that has 1000 steps.

In order to conquer this massive climb, you need to take the first step, then continue taking one step at a time until you reach the top.

I tell this to my members when it comes to weight loss. 

Don't focus on the 20 or 30-pound goal but focus on losing the first 1-2 pounds. Then week to week we focus on another 1-2. 

After 6 weeks, it's possible that you will be down 6-20 pounds, just by implementing small habits and being consistent with following them.

 

What about problem number 2? 

As much as we want to believe we can do it all on our own, accountability is a key factor for success. 

Accountability is more than just letting someone know you’re going to do something, it’s a 2-way street that involves someone who will check in with you, help you make adjustments to your plan, and make sure you’re doing the things you said you would do. 

For TRUE accountability, you need an experienced coach. 

That way, you’re not wasting your time and energy doing things that aren’t going to get you closer to your goals. 

I know the process, yet it sometimes gets overwhelming, and I go off course. That's the reason why I have several accountability coaches that are a phone call away.

They keep me accountable and don't let me make excuses when things don't get done.
