Fit for Life: Life Isn’t Fair

Never was and never will be.
However, we need to overcome, produce and do our best to thrive anyway regardless of our circumstances.

We closed a full week before the mandated close down in March because we felt that it was the right thing to do in order to be part of the solution and help stop the spread of COVID.
When we’re opened on June 1, the state called for 6’ distancing so we went 8’ and incorporated a train in place model.
Next, they required folks to wear masks unless you were 14’ apart. So, we went 15’ apart and continued our train in place model without masks.
Then they mandated everyone wear masks while working out, even if you were 14’ apart.
Now, once again we had to close down entirely.
No group, or personal training allowed, even though we kept a safe environment and went above and beyond to keep our members safe, sane, and healthy, both physically and mentally.
Is this fair?
Is it fair that a majority of all other businesses are allowed to remain open?
Absolutely NOT!!
The point that I am making is that even when you have the best intentions, and attempt to abide by the rules, sometimes life just isn’t fair.
So, I am here to tell you that just because life isn’t fair, we still need to progress in the areas that we can control and learn to cope with the things that are out of our control.
We can’t sit around and cry or point fingers because we feel like we were treated unfairly. You only have so much energy, and it is better used to overcome obstacles as opposed to complain and stomp our feet.
One of the biggest and most important things within our control is our health and fitness, and this is what we need to spend time, energy, and effort on the most during these trying and difficult times.
At Providence Fit Body Boot Camp, we made sure that we found a way to keep all our members engaged even though we had to close our doors.
Because we know that we provide the most important aspect of your life. Better health and fitness.
So just because life isn’t fair, or you got a raw deal somewhere down the line, it still isn’t an excuse to let your health and mental mindset fall by the wayside.
We had a choice. Either pivot and find another way to get our clients great results, OR to shut down, hide, and play victim because everything wasn’t going according to plan.
If you are depressed because someone you know is sick, you lost your job, you don’t like the new president, you still need to step up and attend to your responsibilities.
Life isn’t fair, but when you step back and assess every situation, you will soon see that it doesn’t just single you out, it’s unfair on different levels for everybody.
That’s why it is important to recognize the things you have the ability to impact and realize there are some things that you can’t do anything about.
Do yourself a huge service by staying active, getting 3-5 structured quality workouts in weekly, staying away from processed carbs, sugar and dairy as much as possible, staying hydrated and getting enough sleep.
Just because your gym is closed, that doesn’t give you an excuse to fall off your health and fitness routine.
