The Providence Flea has canceled its March 22 Spring Market held at the Waterfire Arts Center due to the threat of spreading coronavirus.

The April 5, 19, and May 3 markets are still on, pending further updates.

"The Flea's objective is to create a viable, well-attended community market; however, the safety and well-being of every vendor, staff person and shopper is our primary concern. We appreciate the community's support and understanding for the inconvenience. We look forward to getting back to the market in April," said Maria Tocco, owner, and market manager.

The 2019 Holiday and 2020 Winter Markets brought thousands of shoppers and visitors to WaterFire Arts Center to peruse a rotating lineup of 80+ local and regional vintage vendors, artists, artisans and makers, food trucks and bakeshops on those Sunday afternoons.

Spring Market Canceled

The cancelation comes in light of the situation in Rhode Island with coronavirus.

Earlier this week, Governor Gina Raimondo urged for all Rhode Islanders to avoid attending or organizing events with 250 or more people.

Remaining Sunday markets indoors will take place as scheduled on April 5, 19 and May 3 from 11 am - 4 pm at the Arts Center, pending further guidance from state and local authorities.
