Self-Guided Walking Tour to Focus on Black History in Providence

The Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau (PWCVB) is set to launch a new self-guided walking tour focus on the role of early black history in Providence.

The tour is launched in partnership with The Center for Reconciliation and Stages of Freedom.

It will take place on Thursday, January 30 at 9:45 a.m.

The Tour

This tour recounts important and often untold stories of Black history in Providence spanning the years from 1636–1865.

Artifacts from the Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc. in Pawtucket will be on display during the event, many of which are featured on the walking tour.
