Kate Beckinsale Cancels RI Comic Con Appearance
“Unfortunately, we are sad to say that Kate Beckinsale has to cancel her appearance for this year due to a filming conflict. In reference to her photo ops and autograph pre-sales those will all automatically be refunded back in the form of payment used to purchase them. In regards to any of her VIP packs and upgrade packs, Ticketmaster will be refunding the upgraded portion of those packages. Your admission ticket portion will remain valid. We are sorry for this cancelation, however cancelations happen with most conventions. Unfortunately, this is something that is beyond our control and we are as upset as you are,” said RI Comic Con in a statement on Facebook.

Prior to that, she starred in the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor, as well as the comedy Serendipity. She also starred in the Aviator in 2004 and Click in 2006.
Comic Con 2016 Still Loaded
Despite Beckinsale’s cancelation, Rhode Island Comic Con 2016 is still full of celebrities.
In April, Comic Con announced that comic book legend Stan Lee would be coming and in February that Gotham's Robin Lord Taylor is coming. Comic Con announced that Jason David Frank, the original Green Ranger from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will be attending.
Prior to that, Comic Con announced that Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is attending.
