Armed Robbery Reported on Atwells Avenue -- Providence Police Investigating

Providence police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store on Atwells Avenue early Friday morning. 

About Incident

Shortly after 3 AM Friday morning, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven at 548 Atwells Avenue.

An employee told police a man had come into the store wearing a ski mask.

The clerk said the suspect approached the counter under the guise of making a purchase, at which point the suspect pointed a weapon at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register. 

The suspect fled the store following the robbery.

Detectives are currently investigating.
