Providence police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the city overnight.

About Incident

Shortly after 11 PM on Tuesday, police responded to the Messer Street fire station in the West End for a report of a stabbing victim.

According to police, they met with a man in his 50s who said he had been stabbed in his neck by a female suspect.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

A witness told police he saw the stabbing take place at Conlan Memorial Park.

Police canvassed the scene where they located blood on the ground.

Detectives are currently investigating.
