Early Sunday morning, a man was detained at a Coventry motel — GoLocal was first to report that development.

But by Sunday evening, that lead unraveled, and by Sunday. night, GoLocal unveiled that the man was being released.

It has been five days since the mass shooting.

MIT Connection

According to sources, the POI is also believed to be involved in the death of an MIT professor.

Nuno F.G. Loureiro, a 47-year-old physicist and fusion scientist at MIT. He was shot Monday night at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts. He died at a local hospital on Tuesday, the Norfolk district attorney's office said.

If the POI is in fact responsible for both crimes, the combined number of deaths would equal that of the Boston Marathon bombing in April of 2013.

That case was prosecuted federally.
