Brown University to Host Senator Olympia Snowe

Brown University's annual Noah Kreiger '93 Memoiral Lecture will be delivered this year by former Senator Olympia Snowe, Republican of Maine.

The lecture is scheduled to be given on Monday, February 10th at 4:00pm in MacMillan Hall (located at 167 Thayer St), Room 117. The event is free and open to the public, with no advance ticketing required.

Snowe, who retired from the Senate in early 2013, was known as an iconoclast, distinguished as being one of the very few Republicans to serve in Congress from New England, as well as one of the waning breed of bona fide moderates within the GOP. Snowe, who in May of 2013 released Fighting for Common Ground: How We Can Fix the Stalemate in Congress, will deliver an address focused on cross-party compromise entitled "Bridging the Divide: What Hyper-Partisanship Means for 2014…And How We Can Fix Washington."
